AIESEC Austria cordially invites you to apply for an exclusive “Meet the Borealis CFO” event at the global headquarter of one of Austria’s top 10 companies with global presence. As a participant you will have the chance to dive into the world of Borealis, a leading provider of chemical and innovative plastic solutions that create value for society, interact with their top management – especially Chief Financial Officer Daniel Shook – and learn about career opportunities in finance, marketing, HR and sales.

Who?

Daniel J. Shook, Chief Financial Officer (CFO)


  • Daniel Shook was appointed Chief Financial Officer and member of the Borealis Executive Board in June 2007. He is responsible for the Finance and Information Technology functions.
  • He came to Borealis from The BOC Group, one of the largest, global producers of industrial gases, with a turnover in excess of EUR 7 billion.
  • During his twelve years at BOC, he held several senior management positions, including Group Treasurer and divisional Global Business Manager, before becoming Finance Director for Industrial & Special Products, the company’s largest and most profitable division, in 2005.
  • He also worked for National Westminster Bank in the USA and brings with him extensive experience in strategic financial management, business management and planning.
  • Daniel Shook holds a Masters of Business Administration from The Wharton School and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics and Mathematics from Colgate University, New York.
  • Born in 1967, he is an American and British citizen, married and has two children.

Applicant profile:

 

  • Students in Master or advanced stage Bachelor studies (first phase completed)
  • Business studies or equivalent (natural sciences, social sciences etc.) with high top quartile performance from leading Austrian or international university
  • Interest for finance, marketing, HR or sales
  • Interest to pursue a career in a multinational company upon completion of studies
  • Fluency in English language
