In 2009, Peter MANDL, President AIESEC Alumni Austria, agreed with the MC of AIESEC in AUSTRIA, Karin GABRIEL and Mutembei KARIUKI to establish a recurring Mentoring Cycle between AIESEC in Austria and its Alumni body. The idea was to have AIESEC Alumnis accompany former EBs as mentors on a stretch of their road after their term. Mentors and mentees are to work together in a self-defined pace on issues relevant to the mentee, predominantly related to personal and professional goals.
In April 2010, the first phase of the Mentoring program was started under the guidance of Christian Nowak, former MCP AIESEC in Austria and und Mutembei Kariuki, MCVP Talent Management AIESEC in Austria 2009/10. In October 2010, this first edition of AIESEC Austria Alumni´s own Mentoring program closed its curtains.
The second Mentoring phase started in May 2011 and resumed with a final event on the 21st of November 2011, this time managed by Claudia Priglinger, former LCP AIESEC in Linz and und Marlene Lepuschitz, MCVP Talent Management of AIESEC in Austria 2010/11.
Due to its great success, the 3rd Mentoring phase is about to start in March 2012 with two kick-off events (to be chosen from) to be held on March 5th and March 8th 2012. By offering two different dates, hopefully every selected Mentor and Mentee will have time and therefore get the chance to attend one of the two kick-off events.
This next phase will be managed again by Claudia Priglinger being responsible for Mentors and new MCVP Talent Management of AIESEC in Austria Maria Ackermann looking after the Mentees.
The new Mentoring phase starts in March 2012, however you can already apply now to become a mentor. APPLICATION DEADLINE to become a MENTOR is the 6th of February 2012.
