February 17th - 20th 2011 AIESEC Alumni Meeting 2011 takes place in Mexico City.
FInd detailed information in the invitation letter:
Dear Alumni,
I hope this e-mail finds you and your family very happy, that is the most important thing in life.
As some of you might know, I am the president of the IberoAmerican AIESEC Alumni Association (AAIB). We are very proud
to host, together with the AIESEC Alumni International Association (AAI), the AIESEC Alumni International Meeting &
IberoAmerican Business Forum next year, February 17 – 20, in parallel to the International Presidents Meeting of AIESEC.
The congress has the following agenda, which I believe is very complete and satisfies all expectations. We anticipate 200 or
more alumni from all over the world.
We start on February 17 around 3 pm, with the Global Village of AIESEC, which is a remembrance of the good-old-times
international congress exchange floor. The AIESEC teams will set up more than 70 country tables, with local flavor gifts,
drinks, food and music. All dressed up in local typical dresses. It is just a spectacle nobody wants to miss. It will bring you
back to life. They expect over 200 people, plus local university authorities, sponsors and government authorities, we might
well be over 500 attendants, just fantastic.
That same day, we will have the opening cocktail, hosted in the spectacular “Palacio de Bellas Artes” (Palace of Beautiful
Arts) downtown in Mexico City, together with the AIESEC delegates. Again, over 500 attendees in one of the most beautiful
locations in our city. A 1910 palace, brought to Mexico, stone by stone by the then dictator Porfirio Díaz, to commemorate
the 100 years of independence, one hundred years ago.
On Friday 18 ., we will dedicate the morning to an extraordinary exercise: a get to know each-other for business and
professional purposes. Business round tables. By previously knowing all the professional and business background of the
attendees, you will be able to organize a face to face meeting with all those of your interest. AIESEC ALUMNI IS VALUE
NETWORKING. That is one of the key objectives we want to achieve. It is going to be very challenging to set this face to
face meetings but it is worth the effort.
At lunch time we will start the IberoAmerican Business Forum, which will bring all of us in contact with 4 of the most
important economic and business figures in the region, ALL OF THEM AIESEC ALUMNI, heading the pack is Dr. Francisco
Gil Diaz, former Minister of Finance of the Mexican Government, Dr. Oscar Ivan Zuluaga, former Minister of Finance of the
Colombian Government, Dr. Gunter Pauli, recognized economic visionary and writer of several books related to the next
wave of business. Also Dr. Luis Guillermo Pelaez, entrepreneur, will speak about “Latin America – Biodiversity world power”.
The symposium will allow us to capture the messages of these prominent professionals and confront them with our questions
and doubts. Such session will be presided by the AIESEC International Alumni Association president Dr. Victor Lowenstein,
former managing partner of Egon Zehnder International and Secretary General of AIESEC International in 1961- 62.
Same Friday, we will go for dinner, alumni only, to the Chapultepec Castle, at the top of the “cricket” mountain, with a
splendid view of Mexico City. The castle, constructed by a Spanish: Viceroy Bernardo de Galvez y Madrid in 1785, once
house of Viceroys, in 1864 of the emperor Maximiliano of Habsburg, once the house of the Military College and now a
fantastic museum, which you will have the pleasure to visit.

Mexico City
Saturday, February 19 , in the morning, you can participate in the plenary sessions either in the AIESEC Alumni
International (AAI) or AIESEC Alumni IberoAmerica (AAIB) or both, or invest more time in business contacts. Such plenary
will address the way we will keep on organizing our world and regional wide networks to capture more value out of them, and
you can be part of it.
By noon we will visit a company (to be defined among several alternatives we have today) which will show us “on-site” their
developments related to sustainability, and how green is business. We will have lunch at their premises and back to the hotel
with flexible time for you to prepare for the Gala Dinner, which will take place, again together with the AIESEC presidents.
Both this dinner and the opening cocktail will allow you to explore again how AIESEC is doing in several parts of the world,
they are now over 107 national committees.
Gala Dinner will take place at the Museo del Niño (The children museum), a 100% sustainable facility, where we will be able
to interact with many enjoyable applications and activities, to remember the child that is inside us. And find several very
interesting physics experiments in our hands. Gala dinner will be served in such premises, which are in the middle of the
Chapultepec forest, the biggest lung of the biggest city in the world (over 22 million people estimated today in the
metropolitan area).
Finally, on Sunday 20 , after you catch some sleep, we will take you in a city tour and to our Mexican Venetia – Xochimilco,
an original natural set of water channels in the south of the city, which we will explore in very pintorestic flat boats, colorfully
covered with natural flowers grown on site. These boats will carry us (10 boats all together) trough the channels to provide us
a sense of what it was like to live in the Aztec capital city of Tenochtitlan, back in 1325, which was constructed as
Xochimilco, over such channels. We will have a typical Mexican food buffet on the boats, served by other small canoes, and
will also be joined by other canoes with mariachi music. It will be a very colorful trip, lunch, drinking session and full day.
As you can see, we real mean it when we say AIESEC ALUMNI INTERNATIONAL MEETING & IBEROAMERICAN
BUSINESS FORUM IN MEXICO 2011 IS GOING TO BE INCREDIBLE, MAGNIFICENT… SOMETHING YOU JUST CAN’T
MISS!
