AIESEC International President, Florent Mei Yi, is in New York to represent AIESEC at the 2012 Nexus Global Youth Summit from the 19th to the 22nd of September, 2012.

The 2012 Nexus: Global Youth Summit is focused on Innovative Philanthropy and Social Entrepreneurship and aims to increase and improve philanthropy and social investment by convening diverse communities of youth.

The Summit brings together over 300 accomplished young social entrepreneurs, allies and wealth-holders from around the world. It is a host for thought- provoking conversations and ideas that strive to bring to light the most impactful ways for multiple generations and diverse people to learn from each other and collaborate together on pertinent issues that the world is faced with.

As leader of the world’s largest youth-run organization, Mei Yi will be providing a youth leadership perspective during two days of the summit.

On Thursday, September 21st at 4:00pm (EDT), a session entitled ‘Two Generations, Two Leaders’ brings Mei Yi together with Matthew Bishop, the US Business Editor and New York Bureau Chief of The Economist, to discuss ways on how different generations can support each other in the quest towards building a better world.

Friday, September 22nd at 5:00pm (EDT), Mei Yi will be part of a panel on Global Leadership & Social Entrepreneurship. In the face of rising global challenges, new solutions and new types of leadership are needed. The panel will explore how leaders exercise their influence to support their cause. Also present on the panel will be Swanee Hunt, Eleanor Roosevelt Lecturer in Public Policy and founder of the Women and Public Policy Program, and Molly Melching, the founder and executive director of Tostan, a Non-Governmental Organization.
