This was Career Days 2015

Three days of intense thinking, learning and connecting took place from the 10th to the 12th of June 2015. Especially this year the Career Days were an outstanding opportunity for students to get real-world skills. In workshops they did solve practical problems in form of various case studies. Moreover, they connected with other interested students and got the necessary business contacts from senior managers to kick-start their career.

Career Days 046

All the participants could count on highly interesting sessions from our corporate partners DO&CO, Hays, Post AG, PwC, Inverto, Novomatic, Peek&Cloppenburg, Spar and zeb. They value this event as the missing link between the theory taught at university and its practical application in the business world. Our main partner DO&CO, for instance, started off their program with a trouble shooting session, in which the participants worked on solutions for real world challanges. The next day they had the chance to visit a production facility and the DO&CO owned coffee house Demel and Haas Haus at Stephansplatz. On the third day, together with the participants, they organised a Summer Lounge at WU – An open event for everybody to get to know the company while enjoying a cool smoothie.

Later, at a panel discussion personas such as the Chief Finance Officer of Mondi Syktyvkar in Russia, Gabriele Schallegger and Mark Frost, the CEO of Hays were present to discuss their career paths in front of a full house of students. Just like the rest of the event, the panel discussion proved itself to be a fresh wind. Numerous representatives of students were challenging the speakers with in-depth questions about how you can design your career path.

Next year you can look forward to a similarly unique event. Until then you can find further impressions from the event here:
